The enthusiast version *IS* the cheap version. The pro is ~$600 more.

I have been in touch with a Durametric rep and I am probably going to spring for their kit. However, regarding their caution on USB 3.0, they cautioned me to avoid ASUS laptops. Additionally, some Dells create a problem with their USB 3.0.

So what laptops are you folks running and are you "tricking" your USB port to only operate at 2.0?

I am trying to avoid buying and returning laptops trying to find "the one" that works!

Simple, Mac Book Pro / Air with either Boot Camp or Parallels. And of course a full version of Windoze 7.

I have the Pro Durametric and it runs fine (997 & 955) on my dell laptop.

Thanks for the info on the laptops. I wonder how much of the USB 3.0 issue is folks inadvertently plugging into the 3.0 slot vice one of the 2.0 slots.

Apple MAC. Hmmmm. Never owned an Apple and I've been thinking about it. I really like their graphics capabilities or maybe I've only seen them in their "sales" mode.
