Feedback on 05 997 Cab S i am looking at buying
Been reading threads on 997s (i owned a 06' 997 CS no issues) and have had a couple 993 (Targa and 993C4 converted to C2 and built for track). This car is a 2nd owner car with 70k. Had a clutch and flywheel put in at 30k. Otherwise general maintenance since then and NO major services which is concerning. Car was a 3 year lease through Newport, CA Porsche. I have asked for all records, maintenance and looking for advice for other due diligence outside PPI before further evaluation. What do you think it is worth?
Thank you, Steve

I'd stay away from it. There is no good reason why the car shouldn't have been kept up to speed on the service/maintenance. There are too many good used 911s our there to buy one that might be a ticking time bomb. Just my 2 cents.

Does it have the LN Engineering IMS fix already? if not then something to consider. Cab and S are plus... Due to MY and higher miles I would consider it for $40-45K - cost of LN if required... especially if the dealer has all service records. Is it at a p-dealer?

Pissedpuppy I am tracking down you're thought process. The IMS fix is something I am now going to see if I can find out if replaced with new clutch and flywheel at 36k miles. Car was manufactured in 03/05. Just learning and trying to determine if IMS is big deal. I am very familiar with the rev limiter on past P cars I tracked and will also see how many times this one has been pinged. Thx for feedback.

Scoley - if the build date is 03/05, you MIGHT have the newer IMS kit - that build date seems right on the speculated cut line. If you can get the engine number that could help to find out. You should still ask about IMS when they dropped the transmission for the clutch/flywheel, but you may have the new stuff.
