I finally figured out what Atlas Gray reminds me of..
...and of course why I love it so much. Its mix of gray, blues, purples and brown almost perfectly matches well done gun bluing.
Atlas was always a hard color to put my finger on, but cleaning out my gun safe I came across an older S&W .357, and its color is a near perfect match!

You can't be a real Porsche Nut. If you were, you would have said the S&W .357 reminded you of your Porsche, not the other way around.
Of course, I am just kidding! Sweet color on both!

Nice blue finish but looks more like a .45 ACP 1911 than a S&W .357??

^ could not agree more. It's also only color that seems to have a 'fan club'

I love Atlas Grey. I wonder if it is difficult matching the color if any part of the car needs to be repainted? I remember a post by a member in the forum that had to get a panel on his car painted multiple times and there was still a paint mismatch.

That's priceless right there. Wish it would look like that all the time. I've only seen AG once with my own eyes and the car sat in the shade at a dealership. Looked almost midnight blue. AG seems similar to "Carbon black" that I had on an E46 M3. All kinds of crazy shades depending on light going from black to various kinds of blue.
