I always wave, been doing so since my first p-car drive. Usually just open my hand while on the steering wheel, and almost always get a response.

Now, the way some are treating the 991 and its new owners, I wonder if my wave will be welcomed.

Will the 997 and older model guys wave to the 991?

I will wave equally to all 911s however my 997 wave maybe shorter, smaller, slower and more mechanical than my 991 wave..

I have no issues waving to a 991 and I am #3 on the allocation list for the new TT. However, I find that late model "Carrera" guys in general do not wave and feel the "brotherhood"! On the opposite end of the spectrum, the classic guys 99.9% of the time, give the big thumbs up to each other. This is know first hand as well, because I am one of them! The Porsche blood runs real deep amongst the classic crowd!

I no longer wave since I moved to Scottsdale, because nobody else does. I gave up.

No, it's not a real 911. The 997.2 was the last true 911. It has all the true 911 characteristics with no frills or electronics I didn't get full leather or deviated stitching, so I only wave to pre 996 drivers. My tongue is also firmly in my cheek.

I wave to all of them - air or H2O cooled, but at least half have no clue. I get all excited when I see another P-car, but sadly few share the passion.

To you Scottsdalers, I hang out there in the winter, so if I see you I'll give you a wave!
