Incentives on remainder 2011 and 2012 99 inventory

Took the car in for a service this week and it got me thinking about a possible upgrade from my 2008 S Cab with the 6 speed. Anyone know if there are any incentives to support remainder 2011 (and maybe even 2012) inventory as the new 991 is being rolled out? Interested in a 991 too, but the 997.2 is a nice upgrade from my 2008 and I'm guessing this may be a decent time to buy.

Any thoughts, guys?

I've seen $17k off on a 2011 GTS. Listed at $117k asking $100k.

sclemmons 03-23-2012 11:08 PM

I saw comparable deals at Rusnak in Pasadena. GTS at $99k looks like a buy. They had 2 of them.

Fletcher Jones in Fremont were offering ~ 17k off some 2011s and 15k off a 2012 GTS Cab

Celebrated 11 years in the US last weekend by snagging a leftover 2011 C2S with PDK and SC. Only 88 miles on the clock but warranty punched last October. Sticker was $103,800 and I got it for $85,000 with no trade and my own financing.

I am sure I could have done better but I wanted it too bad. No regrets, I am loving my first p-car. In fact, I can't get the grin off my face :D

Oh oh. You've violated the rule of "when buying a new P-car you MUST post pics'!!!!! :)

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I'll check out the Bay Area dealers. Appreciate the info!

Somebody will always say they could have done better but almost 20% off sticker because of 88 miles and 5 months short of full warranty sounds pretty sweet to me. Beautiful car btw. My favorite stock wheels on the .2 cars fwiw. Consider ditching the orange sidemarkers in favor of clear ones. Bigger difference in appearance than you might think. http://www.bumperplugs.com/products.html

i would suggest getting a 991!... never understood buying the last year of the last version of a vehicle as your depreciation will hit much harder even with that discount... thats why the dealers are getting rid of em, before they can't sell em (i.e. situation youll be in) without discounting heavily.

997 is a great chassis, but im sure you can build the vehicle you want, msrp will be close to that on the 997 and subtract a discount and your what, 10k more than the 997..?

The remaining 997's are a great value. The new 991 is the next step in the evolution of the 911, with absolutely no slight to the 997.2's. Both are awesome racing/driving vehicles with an everyday useability. The new PDCC and PTV features of the 991 will impress the drivers looking to maximize their racing or dynamic driving pleasures. There are two mind sets of a Porsche buyer...1-good discount=good deal...2- driving the latest creation from Porsche is the trophy they want to display. Find a 911 with the right color/options/transmission set-up with the right straight forward dealer/salesperson and do it!

Interestingly enough, guys, two emails to my salesperson at Stevens Creek Porsche - the guy who sold me my last two cars no less - have gone unanswered since Wednesday...

I think I'll try other dealers.

pewter82 03-24-2012 05:25 PM

Inventory of a new 997.2 is getting very slim..

Mumbles 03-24-2012 06:20 PM

Comparing prices up here. Local dealer has 2011 GTS in showroom $ 143k

Not to detour this thread but, I bought my first 911 from Steven's Creek, they were not terribly interested in selling me my second, so I went with Porsche of DTLA. Kinda weird.

If I had the bones, I would snag another GTS as a spare.....especially after driving a 991........

Yeah, I'm minded to go elsewhere... Some of the other Bay Area dealers do seem to have more inventory. Stevens Creek is pretty close to my office so it makes servicing etc a little easier but I thunk I may well look at other dealers this time around.

Carlsen is walking distance from my office in Menlo, but I get my car serviced in Fremont.....won't air reason in public....PM if interested.

DTLA Porsche might be worth lookin at- they move a lot of metal, they gave me a very good deal over the phone on my special order GTS with no hassles. Flew down there and drove it back.

Same here in Vancouver. GTS4's in the 140 - 150k range. Am looking at an 2011 C4S, 3300 kms, MT, sport chassis, standard leather, etc. Asking 112,900 with CPO. Seems a bit high but prices seem to be holding up here.

Stop whining.:to_order: ; )

From my experience you should be able to shave 10k to 14k off a new 997 but I imagine they will all be gone soon.

mzn50 03-25-2012 10:25 AM

Funny enough.. I emailed my dealer in the US at Fleminton Porsche in NJ... No response... And I've purchased 2 Porsche's from him..

In Canada... Prices have not dropped.. Will see with the pressure of 991 units quota .?. That can quickly change... Its this time when dealers release products to replace a previous models and end up cannibalising their own market..and compete against their own..

We see this more south of our border....

My wife is torn between the new Boxste at 0% discount...and I think a a 2009-2010 slightly used 997 S cab maybe the way with the pricing domino effect..

LewisB 03-26-2012 03:21 AM

Stead Porsche in Walnut Creek has two lovely 2012 C4 GTS vehicles on the showroom floor and they will negotiate.

Wicked difference in pricing, considering some of the guys here posting 100k for a new GTS

mzn50 03-26-2012 10:46 AM

keep in mind for Canada we/dealers get dinged with a 6.1% welcome to canada duty tax on top of lower volumes..(still does not explain the significant delta) Porsche Canada holds a pretty tight grip on pricing.. we will see if that lasts.... if not.. I do like Ive done before.. take my business elsewhere..(having said that.. my current C4S is from PFAFF in Toronto.. so they can when they want

It's mandatory to remove those orange sidemarkers when posting pictures on Rennlist. Just ask the Supreme Court it's the law of the land.

Can't disagree more, bro! Try getting a similar 991 to Karl's 997 for $85K--it won't happen for a few years.

Even for $95K (which you won't see anytime soon), you'll get a stripper 991 Carrera with 35 less horsepower--significantly less and noticeable. Indeed, the 991 is more advanced, but a 2011 C2S is sweet; add a real exhaust (if it doesn't have PSE) and he's set.

Just my (not requested) $.02.

Carry on--

I agree 100%. I was on the configurator and priced a base 991 with 7 speed manual and a few other options. I was easily at about $102K. Even if the dealer takes off $5-7K on the 991, $85K for a leftover 997.2 S that stickers for over $103K is really good. I would definitely take a 997.2 S over a new 3.4L 991. I think I will start searching now.

gabfab 09-29-2012 06:38 PM

I understand the incentives/cash back are still ongoing for the few remainder 2012 GTS 4s. Could some of the 'experienced' members kindly expand?
