My Airbag light is now on. 2005 997s The shop says that the airbag computer is dead and I need a new one. They can't just clear the code. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I’m not aware of it being a common occurrence.
Also is this possibly covered under some special extra warranty (Like the emissions system is)

Being a safety item, I would think it would have to be fixed by the manufacturer. First time I've heard of this problem. Good luck.

I had this happen within a day of buying my 2010 new off the lot. Replaced module without issue

I believe those items have an eight year warranty. Talk to your service manager.
