Hi all,

I know this is an old topic but I tried to install the diode to my 2007 c2s but was unsuccessful.

I just could not get the connector out of the casing, i even damaged the casing a little bit when I used a small screwdriver to try to take it out. I tried pulling on the cables but am scared that one will come off. How do you get the connector out of the casing? it seems to be glued. see photo.

thanks

I did this a few weeks ago. No issues after install with drain.

It takes a bit of pulling but it slides out toward you. I used a lil pry apart action mixed with a steady pull forward. It feels like you are going to break it but there isn't another way. Take your time it slides out.

Hi!

So what brand of led fogs do you recommend? I see a Dectane pair for 320 bucks on Amazon.

Thanks!

I forgot about the $2 trick, I just manually put the fogs on every day.

I picked up a 100 pack of diodes to do my car and some buddies. Worked awesome, thanks OP. Have about 80 diodes leftover. If anybody wants, paypal me a couple bucks and I'll mail you a few.

Resurrecting this old thread.
I have an ‘06 C2S which I brought into Canada from the U.S. some 10 years ago. As part of the purchase, the Porsche dealer turned on the DRL headlights (required in Canada) and parking lights.
I now would like to move the DRL feature from the headlights to fog lights.
1. How do I turn off the DRL headlights? Can this only be done with PIWIS (Porsche dealership)?
2. I have the Durametric Pro but cannot find any provision to control the DRL. Am I missing something?
3. I do wish to instal some LED DRL/parking/turn signal units, but quite frankly I’m concerned about their reliability. So, which units have proven to be the most
A. reliable?
B. Effective as in light strength and safety?
C. Looks, ignoring the above.
TIA
Johan

I had Speedstar in Markham turn off the DRL low beam for me.

DRL can be turned on or off while in park in the PCM.

Nope, at least on earlier 997s. The CPM has the provision to turn off the DRL but the manual specifically states the this ability is overridden in countries with mandatory DRL. SOL!

You are correct. It’s under “Front-coding” on the menu. Then there are several more options with respect to DRLs. None of them work on my ‘06 C2S (US car). Getting pretty frustrated.

if you have the durmetric pro, turn off the DRL in the FRONT modula via coding. then go into the pcm itself via the standard pcm menu and turn it off there as well (auto drl option). from there you just need to do the diode hack and your fogs will now become your DRL. where in ON are you located?
