Alarm went off on own?
The alarm in my '05 997.1 coupe has apparently gone off on its own twice now in my driveway.
No apparent cause, wind, pine cones, nuts falling - just a quiet evening and "Dad - your car is spazzing out again . . ."
Anybody else? Am I paranoid?

Coincidentally, this happened to my '07 last night. The car was in the garage and all of a sudden the alarm went off with the horn/lights. Can't think of any reason why.
Hit my 'unlock' button on the remote and everything shut off. Locked it back up and it's been fine since.

There is a motion sensor for the cabin that I believe is housed in the center console. I assume nothing is flying around inside your car. Sometimes these sensors can become faulty and trigger the alarm. There is also one on the trunk latch mechanism which has been know to cause problems, as well. You can lock the car and turn off the motion sensor in the cabin to localize your problem by pushing the lock button twice in a row.

I have had this occasionlly problem too over the years as well.
No obvious explanations. I wonder of it related to voltage spike/drops
In the battery as I have had this occur while on and off the battery
maintainer.

My '06 C2S does this as well. About once a month when parked in the garage - seems to happen when the microwave is on in the kitchen, but that doesn't make much sense.

I had the same thing happen on a semi-regular basis back when I had mine - never happened with any other cars in the garage, nor with the Spyder that came after it. And of course not duplicated by the dealer, so it was never fixed.
