Thanks. I'll look for the actual engine ID myself. You're probably correct about the C of A. The dealer sent it to me after the sale--I didn't even know they existed. Surprising that Porsche would make a big deal over these things but have them printed incorrectly.

No worries, i wasnt calling you out or anything, i was just trying to figure out the factory numbering system, and our data points made it confusing. However that your car came from stuttgart as a non X51 S explains the discrepancy.

Mousecrab and bradyb, your Engine numbers are only 6 engines apart! Yet you're in different production months. Must've been right on the cut line for September into October.

Funny enough, my C of A also shows an M96 engine type and a production date of 2/23/06
This is the info from my DME:
Engine Number: 68614862
Engine Type: 25E5 <-- does this mean anything?
