Yes, thanks. Along with DocFinks engine #, it does look like X51 motors have their own number series.

Thanks. I'll look for the actual engine ID myself. You're probably correct about the C of A. The dealer sent it to me after the sale--I didn't even know they existed. Surprising that Porsche would make a big deal over these things but have them printed incorrectly.

cibergypsy's car is X-51 and does not follow this number scheme. It's odd.

Didnt cybergypsy convert his car after delivery? If not forgive me, but i recall someone here having it done.

Edit- here, its not a factory X51

No worries, i wasnt calling you out or anything, i was just trying to figure out the factory numbering system, and our data points made it confusing. However that your car came from stuttgart as a non X51 S explains the discrepancy.

Yes, I should have clarified that when I posted, that way there wouldn't have been any confusions.

They really cranked out the cars in July. Cab&coupe's car is #3423 in 3 weeks.

Mousecrab and bradyb, your Engine numbers are only 6 engines apart! Yet you're in different production months. Must've been right on the cut line for September into October.

Here's my info:
2006 C2S
Funny enough, my C of A also shows an M96 engine type and a production date of 2/23/06

This is the info from my DME:
Engine Number: 68614862
Engine Type: 25E5 <-- does this mean anything?
