Just for comparison of the 9a1 motor on my 997.2 C2 manual I'm consistently getting 22 mpg per tank (+ or - 1 mpg) measure at each fill up (computer on mine is over optimistic usually reading 1-2mpg better). Roughly 70% suburban driving 30%. Driving it hard when traffic allows.

Although the sound of the 997.1 "S" with PSE is likely worth the extra trips to the gas station for most as this is a Rennlist forum not a Prius owners chat

My 2008 C2S with 8800 miles gets about 19-20 on back roads with lots of curves.

Stock 996 C2 cab with PSE hack @ 49k miles, 65% back road ~45mph - 5% city - 30% highway. RPM mostly between 3-4K - consistently 22mpg. Highway trips 26-28mpg - over 30mpg if I set the cruise @ ~speed limit.

I just got back from VIR where in about 400 track miles I averaged 8 mpg. I'm a bit concerned that this may be too high....

At Hallett, I discovered that my PCM won't tell me anything less than 9 mpg :-)

My last tank in my '08 C2S (6 MT, PSE) was 13.1 MPG, 80% city. But that was low; previous tanks have been ~15. Highway only driving on longer trips I get ~26.

2006 C2S cab with just under 40,500 miles. Driven with mix of top up/down, and hwy/city. I average 15.7 MPG over the last 6,300 miles. Worst was 12.5 MPG, best was 21.5 MPG (all hwy). Car has tiptronic and does not have SC opr PSE

Just took a long drive to pick up my purchase and bring it to its new home
2006 C2S, 23K miles. 760 miles of I-95 fun. I topped off the tank and measured the mileage 3 times.

243 miles, 11.22 gallons 21.7 mpg (about 70 mile section of stuck in stop and go traffic)
132 miles, 5.48 gals, 24.1 mpg
203 miles 8.6 gal, 23.6 mpg

So 23.1 mpg on average for pretty much pure highway driving
