Default How much life is left in these pads?

While I am doing the winter wheel swap, I picked up my OEM pads that were replaced with Ferodo race/street pads this season, and they look like they got enough life for a winter season. The main reason I wanna put these back on, is that they actually work better in colder climate and don't squeel as much specially since I can't heat up my current pads that much in freezing temps.

What do you guys think? I probably do only 3K miles this winter. Do these pads look ok for just street driving this season?

depends on whether you are doing city driving or freeway driving but IMHO it looks like it should get you through the winter.

Good luck!

If the pad thickness is equal the back steel plate you should replace them.

They have a winter left in them. Don't track them though!

That's crazy! That's like replacing your tires when they are half worn! To the OP, your pads will have no problem lasting the winter on normal driving. And, I have been doing brakes for over 35 years so I speak with just a little bit of experience. I would reccomend a light sanding of the surface on both the rotors and the pads to help them bed in. For the Pads use a flat sanding block to ensure evenness.

Looks like you have around 6/32s or less than 1/4" im sure you can easily get 5-10k on the street. Track would reduce this significantly..

1-2 track days? euh... For street, you should be fine for the winter for sure.
