heater fan/temp button removal
Has anyone ever removed these switches from their hvac control unit?
www.stickynomore.com can restore these to "as-new" condition for $75 bones, however they require the buttons to be completely removed from the unit. My friend's shop is uncomfortable going further than what you see here.
Is there another place I can send this that would be able to take it from here?
Any hints on removing the buttons?

I have never removed the 997 switches, but the white "studs" or "posts" on the back of each switch is the key. Look closely ro determine how they posts snap into the face plate, then you can determine how to free them.

Robbie at stickynomore says they will look factory original and never peel again. This place has an insane following on F-Chat. It seems every interior piece on a 355, 360, 550, 575, etc. goes wonky and this guy has made quite a name for himself making them perfect again.

You sir may be my new hero. I have been thinking about painting them myself like the person on Planet 9 did. I didn't want to do that since I couldn't have the fan and temp on them.

Ahhh sweet success You just have to "go for it" as my friend put it with a couple of the plastic tabs. Sent the parts off today and I'll report back in a bit.

Way too many projects happening right now. I had a small problem with one of the buttons being delivered less than perfect from stickynomore. I shipped it back and they took care of it for me straight away.
I was wrong in that they are not exactly the same as factory. The rubbery texture is gone replaced by a smooth surface the same shade of black. Also, the fan/temp symbols/words are not painted on like from the factory. They are decals in the exact same font as the originals. If you look with a microscope you can see the outline of the decal.
But really they look great. I'd do this repair again in a minute. Thanks Robbie!
