997 Wheel quick question
Dear Rennlisters,
Would you be kind enough to inform me if the Carrera III wheels from a 2006 997.4S fit on a narrow body 2010 Carrera? The tires are the right size, i just don't know about the wheel offsets fitting.
Thanks

I believe the offsets of the 997.2 cars are the same as the 997.1 cars. So 4s (wide body) rear wheels will stick out 15 mm further than the factory narrow body rear wheels (52 mm offset vs 67 mm for the NB). That is quite aggressive, and the tires will likely protrude a little beyond the fenders. The front wheel sizes are the same regardless of narrow or wide body.

Widebody to narrow body - fronts may be OK but rears will stick out beyond OEM but maybe OK for you. What are the sizes of the Carrera III's - you can see the width and offsets stamped on either side of the valve stem. These are the 18 inch wheels correct?

I don't know the 2010 OEM sizes for sure but assuming that the 2010 OEM are 10.5 x 18 et 60 then as Ken mentioned before, the wheels you want to put on will extend out 15mm beyond stock. Will they fit, probably - will they look good, depends on you.

Rob,
As others have stated, they will fit..... but they will be almost flush, if not past, with the fender. Add a 15mm spacer to your current rear wheels and you will see how much farther out the wheels/tires extend.

If the rim widths on the new wheels are wider than your current (such as 11" vs 10.5"), then the new wheels will stick out another 1/4" beyond that shown by adding a 15mm spacer to your current wheels. So be sure to account for both offset and rim width. Your wheels should have the width and offset shown right beside the valve stem so you can compare properly.

Thank you all very much for the information .... I was trying to help a friend with a new 2010 997 Looking for a set of winter wheels and tires... Doesn't appear the used set will fit.
Cheers
