Default What would be a fair purchase price? 2011 997 S

What would be a fair purchase price for this 2011 997 Carrera S? The warranty was started November 2010 because the dealer "punched" the car for "sales numbers?" but is still considered new (ODO has 38 miles on it).

White 911 Carrera S - 90,500.00
Black Standard Leather - 0.00
PDK - 4080.00
19" 911 Turbo II Wheels - 890.00
Sport Chrono Package Plus - 1480.00
Logo on Center Console - 330.00
12-Way Power Seats - 0.00
Comfort Package - 1750.00
Self Dimming Mirrors - 0.00
Heated Seats (front) - 0.00
Infotainment Package - 3010.00
Ext. Navigation Mod - PCM 3.0 - 0.00
Bose Surround Sound System - 0.00
XM Satellite Radio Receiver - 0.00

Total Options - 102.040.00
Total Charges (Destination) - 950.00
Total Order - 102.990.00

Should I insist that the dealer "throw in" an extended warranty to cover the lost year due to the new car warranty starting in November 2010?

Thanks in advance for any input...

Warranty situation makes no sense! $80,000! I bought mine for $78,000 with same sticker new!

I don't understand what or why they did what they did, I'm just repeating what the salesperson told me. But I won't accept it as a "new" car if it doesn't come with a "new" car warranty.

Sounds like $78,000 would be a legit offer if you got yours for that.

Thanks for the reply

$78 sounds like a very good number (24% off MSRP) but you need to hold firm here, and have walking power. Is this White Allen by chance?

No, Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta. Not sure if it is ok to post salesperson's name or not?

My company has an agreement with Jim Ellis (jimellisdirect.com) and the Porsche brand falls under that umbrella. I am supposed to get a good discount but it is no where close to the $78,000 we are talking here. I emailed the salesperson back and ask about CPO'ing the car and he said "No, the warranty started on Dec 1st, 2010, but that’s the extra consideration on the price, now if you were going to keep it, you can spend $2900 and get it certified, $2500 for cost of warranty and $400 for inspection." $400 to inspect a car with 38 miles on it? C'mon...

I have the "walking power" as I don't have to buy right now, I just know new 2011 Carrera S and 4S are going to become harder to find at dealers willing to deal. I was also hoping that because of the agreement between my company and JimEllisDirect.com, that my purchase would be hassle free and the best price regardless of where I looked, new or used.

I suspect that the right price is mid 80s. $78k was only possible when the cars had lots of trunk money, and they have very little right now.

I'd go for $5k under invoice and have them throw in CPO. $85k is what I would target.

True! $85 sounds correct.

Why was "trunk money" available earlier and not now when dealers are probably wanting to clear 2011s off the lots? What would you guessimate the dealer has in this car?

I'd agree with 85ish being fair. I don't see 78k happening at all.

During the Recession, Depression, WhatEverYouCallIt, Porsche was throwing trunk money at these cars because they were languishing on the lots. There were new, "unpunched" cars that were a year old or older still sitting on lots and Porsche threw money at them to move inventory. I bought a new 2008 Boxster in late 2009 for a rediculous amount off sticker and got waaaay too much for my '02 Boxster on trade. But, the economy was in the toilet...

That's not the case right now. Porsche is doing well in their sales, so there is no incentive to toss this trunk money on these 2011's at this point.

I agree with others that $85k is obtainable on this car in question considering how sales are doing and that this warranty has started.

Dealer has invoice into the car. They get a holdback once the car is sold and they are paying flooring charges to keep it in inventory.

trunk money was available when there was a glut of 09s in stock in late 2009/early 2010. Dealers are NOT sitting on nearly as many 2011s. There was very little trunk money in the 2010s as well, although still some.
