Default Rear seat (back rest) tear - Remedy Request

Hi guys,

Found this rear in the rear seat back rest yesterday. Has anyone dealt with this issue or something similar? Wonder if this is fixable or in need of replacement.

Thx all.

Everything is fixable but a replacement might be cheaper and easier. Check with DC Automotive, LA Dismantler, and eBay.

Looks like most of the exposed area just needs to be stuffed back under the trim.

Yea, it doesn't look too bad but it does appear to be torn at the edges of the leatherette. Best to get a used one. I found one on eBay luckily enough, so I'll just opt to replace vs repair. Surprised at the quality tho for only a 14 year car (especially a Porsche...). I can't speak for the PO's ownership etc but seems odd to have seemingly quality issues. Afterall never had any "quality" issues with any of my other sports or family cars (some of which were twice as old). Wear and tear I suppose.

It's poor design in the first place, IMO. Mine is also 'shrinking' at that spot, starting to expose the foam underneath. There's nothing to clamp the trim piece to the seat covering to stop this happening over time. Perhaps full leather optioned pieces fare better than the standard 'pleather' base trim crud.
