Yeah, after reading people's responses, I think I'll definitely add the Function First **** to my cables/shifter upgrade package (once they're back in stock next spring ). I'd love to keep it OEM but I'm not big on the design of that X97 ****, particularly for the price. I wish the BFI one had an option to not have their logo on it, too.
Not in love with what I did (I cut a piece of red alcantara and applied with double-sided adhesive so it is flush), but I ended up not using the BFI coin temporarily. In addition to the one they send with, I did purchase their 6-speed pattern coin as well. Just wish that was silver rather than black. LOL.

Yes, They are the BBS SR with the rear in the 10" width for a 265/40 sottozero rear tire. I did not add spacers. They are tucked a little under the rear fender, but seem to be the same profile under the front fender as my factory 19"s. I've now had several drives on the wheel and tire combo on snow and am very satisfied with their performance. I think that the paint on the wheels will hold up well and is easy to clean.

Personally, I think this is a good thing for these rear wheels to be tucked a little to keep the snow and gravel off the painted side of the rear quarter, but you could easily make a case for a 7-15mm rear spacer.

And to the others posting their swap over to winter tires lately... Good to see some others who know how to have a good time.

Thanks, I've been eyeing those for about a month but couldn't decide if it would fit/look funny and/or need spacers on my Targa 4S. We don't always get as much snow as you guys do here in Idaho, depends on the winter, but the temps get far too cold for my summer tires.

Do you find the 265 rear limits your performance vs a 295? Or is the winter tread compound really the limiting factor?

How do you keep the 911 clean(ish)? Just use automatic car washes during the winter?

I'm pretty sure the limit is the 265 on the rear. The front is no more likely to understeer, but I can chirp the rears more easily than the 305's I run in summer.

I use one of the multi-stall pay car washes and do not use their brush, or if it is a warm day soap bucket and my little pressure washer on the driveway at home.

Gundo hack done. The gundo version I did was 2" pipe to muffler (PSE copy I believe) and not pipe to pipe. Pipe to muffler really shines in 3rd 4th gear full throttle and I think pipe to pipe adds more throughout. Drove her home with some spirited driving. At idle and 1st and 2nd not much different than stock which I expected. I am happy. Money well spent I suppose. Just another piece of the puzzle. Next I might get an x-pipe with 200 cell cats and maybe do the pipe to pipe addition.

Beautiful day in the Pineywoods of Deep East Texas. 60’s and not a cloud in the sky with a light breeze. Sloan needed a bath so here she is. Now to go for a Spirited drive! Life is good.

Get 200 cel cats (i have the AWE) and you will be a happy man! Really notches the sound up over gundo only
