Been thinking of adding a heavier **** like that when I do my Numeric shifter/cables upgrade. Do you find that the **** alone makes a difference in shift feel?

The black C4 looks nice but do they all sit that high off the ground?

i have the oem ssk.. my next mod is gonna be metal bushings.. i find now the weight of the **** makes the shifter feel cheap...maybe metal bushing or a numeric would help..it does feel better than stock thats for sure..

my goal is to one day buy a cae shifter so thats why i dont want to spend the money on a numeric..

My 997.1TT has had the Numeric SSK for quite some time and I have tried a bunch of shift *****. A heavier and more solid material **** makes a very noticeable difference. For OEM the expensive all aluminum (x45 I think?) **** is great. Much better than the CF, GT3, GT2RS, or stock TT ****. Going aftermarket allows a much heavier shift ****. I am currently using a Black Forest Industries (BFI) **** -over 220g vs the GT2RS one at 76g.

It really improves the 1-2 shift feel in my car and makes every other shift more solid feeling.

Default Winter tires and new spacers

winter tire time in Jersey. Love the way the Turbo II s look. Sottozeros 235-19 and 295-19. I would have gone 18s but got a killer deal on these wheels and tires last year. Also tried new ECS spacers. I had 15 rear and 7 front and switched to 18 rear and moved the 15s to the front. I was wirried they might be too much but I love it. Lots of opinions on this but to me this looks perfect. In the garage now with tender. Don't really drive it much during week because its cold here and my office is only 1.5 miles away. Never warms up.

Obviously just my opinion, but I really didn't like that aluminum ****

from Porsche. Was part of my build, but I removed the ****, sold it to a Rennlister, and put on a Function First ****. Love it.

Replaced the clutch interlock switch. Was a pain to get the new part in there, but some doublesided tape held it in place for me (could only get one hand and my big *** shoulders under the pedals).

Got the Rennline grill inserts (kind of hard to see in the pictures) installed as well the tie downs. I then put her to sleep for the next few months

Yup, I meant the X97. My car had that option and it is sought after, but I agree that it wasn't my favorite. It had a good feeling but the aluminum knicked/galled way too easily. The PO must have worn rings or something on his right hand because there was a lot of wear marks on it. I ended up selling and replacing...

I'm surprised -- I've removed mine a few times when doing work under the dash and it just twists out (quarter turn to release).

Yeah, after reading people's responses, I think I'll definitely add the Function First **** to my cables/shifter upgrade package (once they're back in stock next spring ). I'd love to keep it OEM but I'm not big on the design of that X97 ****, particularly for the price. I wish the BFI one had an option to not have their logo on it, too.
