What did you do to your 997 today?

auto-blip
So, to satisfy my curiosity, I looked into auto-blip. It seems like a manual version of the computerized throttle in the 991s with manual transmissions. I drove a buddy's 991.2 S 6MT. Downshifting and having the revs jump was a little unnerving at first, but I can see how, with time, it might grow on me.

I have just added several things to my 997TT Today I finished installing a 5000-CA5 curb alert PRO. This product is sold by Brandmotion and is a great little curb detector. I had one of these detectors on my Boxster S and it worked great. The surprise is how the Zunsport grill is transparent to the pencil beam. I was prepared to use a dremmel grinder to open a window in the grill for the IR beam to look through but when I popped the center grill back on after final focusing it worked perfectly. Also when I purchased my car a couple months ago my rear spoilers hydraulics were leaking so I installed a Rennkit super fast 3” tall eRam kit. These things work great but I thought I would try a different look and since my company powder coats I applied a dull black to the shafts and a texture black to the top caps. I know these only show when you’re running over 75mph or so but I just like the way they look. I turned down the diameter of the shafts to compensate for paint thickness so the seals fit the same. Also since I was having the guys shoot the texture black on the eRams I had them do the exhaust tips. I know according to what I have read on the forum that powder coating is not supposed to take the heat but it is no big deal if it burns off. There are some higher temp coating that we can get but I just wanted to try what we have on hand first. The oven cure for this paint is 425 degrees so maybe it will hold up.

R_32's beautiful blue Targa (in the middle) next to mine on the end
This fantastic Cayman was the 'sweep car'
We ended the day at a local brewery for lunch

I changed the oil.... But not the filter and I "lightly" stripped the oil drain plug. I thought I had the allen wrench socket in all the way, but didn't. In addition, I had the wrong oil filter wrench. I was sooo pissed and no one carried the correct size filter wrench. I just ordered the correct size off amazon with a magnetic drain plug.

I hit the 75k mark on my 2010 4S Cab, having bought this beast CPO'd with 32k on the clock just over four years ago.... I've loved EVERY mile I've put on this fantastic machine, and have my sights set firmly on my next milestone of 100k😎
