That's a really interesting product. I have gone back and forth for years about installing a whole house RO, reverse osmosis, system. Not only cleaner cars, but no water spots in the showers, easier to wash windows, and better drinking water. But, to be honest, my primary motivation was for the cars. Something like this may be the best of both worlds.
This was the next best thing, I had also looked into the Aqua gleam system, however from what I had read it didn't last so long, was expensive and wasn't refillable.
The system I got is perfect for car washing & the resin should last at least 3 months before I start seeing a ppm of 1.0 and 6 months before the resin needs to be changed, so once you calculate the costs of microfibers, washing them, detailing spray etc it will pay for itself in no time.
Go for it, you will be able to wash all your cars in half the time!

Darkhorse I also looked into RO as well, but I really only wanted it for my cars, washing 3 of them gets a bit tiring because of my detailing OCD
