Today, for the first time in 28 months of ownership, my unicorn let me down. Went to drive it to a cars and coffee. Nada. Wouldn't start. After running in circles like a beheaded chicken for a few mins, my wife slapped some sense into me, & told me to call Porsche Roadside Assistance. Got Jody, who applied emotional TLC. More importantly, she arranged to send a flat bed with a jumper box. Battery was low. Whew! Drove it immediately to dealership to have them check it out and put in a new battery. Happily, Porsche Plano is right near Boardwalk Ferrari, so what better way to kill some time waiting for your Porsche than joy riding in your Cali. Thanks to BF, Steve & Paul for having the Cali staged and ready to go. And now my unicorn is back home, where it belongs, parked in the bat cave. Long day, I'm hitting the booze. Drive those lovely 997s people...T

Took the GTS out today for a spirited drive with some P-Car buddies. From Suwanee GA up to Cashiers NC for lunch and back. Parking lot pic with mine 5th from the left.

Did 10 track laps. Hit a hole on way back home and punctured the rear tire (sidewall). Will have to install my new Bridgestone S04.

That's my wife! I'm running around like a squirrel on uppers & she started the call to 1-800-PORSCHE. I must say, I was impressed by Roadside Assistance. Efficient. Knowledgeable. And, most of all, calming. Much more impressive than the one time we had to use the Mercedes equivalent for my wife's car...T

Washed it before driving it to a dealer event - unveiling of the new 718 Boxster. New Boxster is nice, but I wouldn't trade it for my 997.2S. Of course, it'd be a nice upgrade for the wife's SLK...T

+1. I hope lots of people order them in Miami Blue. Be nice to pick a CPO'd one up in a few years, & let someone take the initial depreciation hit. She loved the color...T

Same here, Miami blue is the best color for the 991.2. I had the new 911 for a 2 day test drive and I am impressed. It's fast, it's smooth, it's comfortable, it's everything you want a 911 to be except for the price. The one I drove has an MSRP of over $139K for a Carrera S and in 3 years time, it'll drop to half that. Quite a bargain for a car that can do 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds.

I washed the car. Then I used the Surf City Garage clay bar pad which is great and much easier than an actual clay bar. Then I applied the Turtle wax ice lock shine sealant ( goes on like rubbing alcohol) and let it cure for 24 hours. Then I used Turtle wax Ice liquid wax. The car looks brand new and the depth of shine is better than Ever.

I like the results so much I did it on both my Mercedes as well. The shine sealant does an incredible job keeping the car lookin good after it rains.

All the products cost me roughly $40 at Wal Mart and I couldn't be happier
