Happy 4th.
So, tell the truth, do you love it as much now as you did when you first got it?

Interesting question about loving it as much as when I first bought it. It does, and yes I know it is trite, but it does remind of a relationship. The flush of first meeting, morphs into a relationship, evolves into a marriage. It is amazing that I can daily drive to work, auto-cross on the weekend (once so far but see more in the future), and still take it to the mountain roads so near by. Driving home the other day, I was thinking that I wanted to always have at least one Porsche in the garage, the type really only depends on the rational proportioning of my disposable/irrational income. For now, just about perfect. PDK is great for my use now, but I could completely see trading PDK for 6MT if I didn't DD, i.e., when I retire. Cheers!

There's a recent thread on windshield replacement, if you've not seen it, which may offer useful advice...T

Are those fairly cold tire pressures? Seems a bit low all around.

I am more impressed with the 72 F temp! We haven't even seen that for overnight lows for weeks!

You can get a replacement unit for about $70 (at least it was for the 997.1). It's an easy swap.

Yes, cold tires, just came out of covered garage. They usually get up to 36/42 ish with a little bit of driving. Today, watched a few SCCA races at Portland International Raceway. Amazing weather! Cheers.

well, I stuck it back in the place it belongs and it seems to be working and not falling out. Maybe I just popped it out without breaking anything? Is that possible?

Hey Motopix, well, I stuck it back in the place it belongs and it seems to be working and not falling out. Maybe I just popped it out without breaking anything? Is that possible? Is the finger tab a press fit?

I don't know how the tab is mounted. A mechanic broke mine so that it was still in place but flopping around so it took some fiddling to get it to open the trunk.

Fortunately, another mechanic at the same place attested that it was not broken when I came in so they bought a replacement. I chose to do the install myself.

If yours is working now and you're happy with it - bonus!

Picked up some custard for the kiddos at church last night, making this by far the coolest custard delivery vehicle in the world......btw my friend owns the custard place and they are greatly offended when calling it ice cream! As we were deep in a game of dodge ball one little guy got knocked out and noticed the car in the parking lot. He was a great kid, asked me how much i paid for it and was completely unimpressed that its top speed was not 200mph. He told me that all of the best Porsches would run 200+. Was a fun evening.
