Spent hours last night watching bore scoring videos from flat6innovations.

Took the car our for a drive, came home, put it up on the lift and pulled out the engine stethoscope again.

All cylinders sounded the same, all quiet, no rythmic ticking, phew!

It’s amazing how paranoid these things can make you.
But, better to be safe than sorry.

I augmented my owner's manual with a cheap old Winbook TW700 running Durametric:

This is a real Windows PC (running 8.1) that I can keep inside the owner's manual pouch (it snaps closed) in the glovebox, so I don't need to lug my usual big laptop around for scanning and logging.

Wow, what a cool solution!
What hardware is that, and presumably a USB interface to the OBD port?

The PC is a Winbook TW700 and the interface cable and software is from Durametric:

I bought the 3-VIN limited enthusiast version for $287. I had a bit of difficulty installing the .NET framework under Windows 8.1 and am not quite sure how I finally got it to work, but it did. These days, Windows 10 machines are more common and shouldn't have the same difficulty.

Looks good!
Could you do me a favour and measure the diameter and thickness of both the old and the new wheel?
I'm still deciding on which one to go for; I understood the sport design wheel is a bit smaller and thicker...

Also, is the silver trim on the old wheel an exact colour match with the rest of the silver trim (vent surrounds, cupholder cover, door handles,...)?
I know the sport design wheel is a bit more shiny, aluminium looking...

@Zoefhaus, of course. Will have the measurements for you this weekend and also some feedback on the colour matching as I honestly have not taken any notice of it :-)

Busy day trying to play with the car on and off so wife wouldn’t notice.. installed....
  • Suncoast LED interior light bulbs
  • rennsport cell phone holder
  • SmartTOP controller
  • lloyds floor mats
  • center vent
  • and ordered Moshammer aero kit
its interesting that she never complains when I’m spending $ on her Macan. 4K for full body clear bra and she didn’t even flinch.
