Diamond Blue 4S tip 02-04-2014 12:55 AM

I put the snow tires/wheels back on the 4S today. Planning a road trip to Sonoma, Ca this weekend with some snow in the forecast over the I80 summit on Saturday. Thanks to tips I found on the forum I transferred my center caps to the winter wheels, very simple.

are those mudflaps?

yes, I put them on all my cars. "R" compound tires throw up lots of trash that will quickly make a mess of the lower portion of the rear quarter panels

Where did you find the mudflaps? I think they're cool and appear to be usefully functional.

O'reilly auto parts .I trimmed them a little. I think they were $6.95 for the pair, I got the smallest ones. As they come you can see the obvious area I trimmed off ( where the thickness differs. I drilled and used sheet metal screws (four come with the set and I have found three per fender work best.) I simply drilled in the plastic fender portion that is directly behind the tire and screwed them in. I then put a dab of epoxy on the screws to hold them in. Never had a problem trading in a car with them on and several of my friends have me install them on concours cars.

Added the chrome (thanks, Suncoast Parts) "Porsche" and underneath it-- "911 S" to my 08 C2S....the old script was cracked and looked sort of sad....this new chrome against the Cobalt Blue looks very cool....

And then, last weekend- added 2-4 lbs per tire....weather is waaay too crappy to drive,so....DC area has been busy with snow & ice since 1/1/14....

IS IT APRIL YET??

Replaced the Mann charcoal cabin filter (which was in fine shape) with the cheap paper one - seeing if I can get a few more liters per minute out of the vents.

Stalled in traffic on the way to work, when I went to start it it felt it was not going to start. Does all 4S sound require a couple of turn over to start it ?

My key fell apart !! and the transponder flew off. Had some nerve racking moments before I managed to start it.

Installing LED License plate light today. Also RAGGTOPPING the Cabrio roof.

I know we need it but just wish it wouldn't rain this weekend in Northern CA so I can DRIVE :(

No. It should kick right over just like any car, and like any car, Extreme cold can cause harder starting, but not after its warm. Since you stalled, it might have been a fuel starvation thing. See if it goes away.
