.

First post, long time lurker here.

Been between P-cars for too long but landed this little black beauty at my local Porsche dealer today.
It's a 09 997.2 CS that spent it's first couple of years as a company car at Porsche and then had one previous owner after it left Stuttgart.
Car is a short shift manual with sports exhaust, all black full-leather, no wart, heated adaptive sports seats etc. Odo has 4.3k miles on it.
Lot's of things to do in the season ahead like Öhlins R&T, new wheels etc.
Let the adventure begin!

Two quick questions - did you plati-dip the stone guards and will the plati-dip tips stand up to the heat from the exhaust?

Took the winters off and put these 19" Vossens I picked up on Cyber Monday. The fender gap is totally bugging me. I have PASM and considering getting springs.

i assume you mean me . Yes plasti-dipped deck lid, stone guards, and tips. Cayenne guys say it withstands heat no problem. We will see. My plastidip guy did em for free while he was doing wife's cayenne. Will see how it holds...

Got my 997.1 back from the shop - transmission replaced, engine re-sealed and headlight level sensor replaced (what I brought the car in for). Took 3 weeks to get it back, and Fidelity warranty paid for it all ($12k). Now it shifts like it should and no vibration at idle. So excited to have it back in the garage! More excited to drive it!

Went to protectively replace the non-leaking 01 coolant reservoir caps with the updated 04 versions on both my 997.1s to discover evidence of some leaking on my wife's (white residue on edge of cap).

So what have I done to my 997. Starting small with a few small changes. Added color Porsche center cap. Made my own Porsche center cap extraction tool with a wire hanger. Replaced the sidemarkers with clear ones. And even added a bit of personal cheese to the car with the Porsche logo courtesy door lights. I did have to wire up my own little harness for the lights since they were plug and play.

You have the 2 doors reversed - there's a left and a right - then the "Porsche" will read properly when projected on the ground.

Had an event at the local dealer, I got on site a bit early and decided to use the touch free car wash and the car went psycho on me, after the SEL lit up and the car ran as if it was on two cylinders I made it back to the dealership and found the MAS air sensor mount was loose and was sucking a small amount of water into the air intake. After the event and four hours of drying out it was mostly behaving again, got back to the house and tightened the MAS air sensor mount then disconnected the battery to clear the SEL. Car drove like a champ this morning to work, better then ever.
