Buttoned her back up and went for a nice drive after a 2 week layoff to replace plugs, coils and fix two broken PSE vacuum actuators. The latter were discovery items found while I was troubleshooting a loud exhaust rattle and were also the delay while I waited for new parts. First time I've done anything like that on any vehicle, let alone a Porsche. Very satisfied with the results. PSE fully functional - check. Engine misfires resolved - check. Big sense of personal accomplishment - check.

Very nice Nigel!!!

Methinks that you're being conservative re the +2HP per oval!

After nearly two weeks away from home and a week in the Sierra, I will fire up the C4S later today and fetch the spousal unit at work...via the long way: Inverness > Tomales > Petaluma > Inverness! :D

So, I took them off, cleaned and repainted with high temperature paint:

Here's how they look now. I figure that's worth about 2hp per exhaust!

And I will do the Coast Loop, 1 to 92 to 35 to 84 to 1 to home!!! Maybe stop at Alice's for lunch. Still working through the manual setting on the PDK.

Also, not today, but soon, anyone thinking about doing the rear seat delete and would like the kit from Porsche, see my posting #7 at https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...at-delete.html for more attractive pricing $220 vs. $550.

Now that sounds like a fun trip! You are a lucky man to live in driving heaven.

We recently got back from vacation where we rented a diesel VW Golf. It was a perfectly fine vehicle, outstanding fuel economy, but OMG what a wonderful feeling it was to take Moby out for a drive when we got home! My wife had the following to say from behind the wheel: "Rrrroaaaaaaaaawwwwww!!!"

Added Adaptec 7mm & 15mm spacers. They fit great and no vibration at speed.

Yup, the Sierra was wonderful even in a rental (Hyundai Sonata). We went east over Sonora Pass and west over Tioga. Why don't you bring Moby down here and we'll do the same route with the 997s?! :D

Hard to believe that it is 85F on the NorCal coast so I finally spent some time with Dr. Colorchip.

It looks like he and I will do the same over the next few days. It seems to be a slow process but it should hide the blemishes after many coats...

In the meantime I drove the beast yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks and the stupid smile is still firmly planted on my face!
