My research (by no means exhaustive or scientific) and my call to Porsche NA where they confirmed their productoin of GTS is limited has convinced me for now anyway that the GTS is going to very limited in numbers compared to the other 997 variants. Regardless, I love the car.

Thanks.
My comments are in response to the "100-150" sold. Do I have Porsche's playbook in my back pocket? Obviously, no. What I do know is that over a one year period, Porsche sold ~500 Spyders in the US. During that time there were rarely more than three on the ground or inbound at the larger dealers in the country. When I see 21 at the two dealers closest to me, an exponential amount over what their Spyder inventory ever was, I think it is safe to say the GTS is not at all limited, or particularly rare. Not that it isn't a great 997.

Not a ruse. Cars show up on the dealer website between the end of production and arrival at the port, both customer ordered and dealer ordered vehicles. I wouldn't buy a car from either dealer.

GTS's are out there. That's not the point. My point is they are far more limited in production then the other Carreras. I'd bet production is already over or close to it.

Regardless of the semantics the GTS will be sold in "limited" numbers as compared to the total 6-7 year run of 997/911 production. Special edition 2011/2012 might be more appropriate but in the long run there will be fewer GTS's on the road than "standard" 997's. Who cares. The GTS has all the goodies you would want in a 997. Whats not to like. It is the best of the breed exclusive of the GT2/3 series.
