Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I'm glad that I'm not alone and hope that we all avoid it happening again. My car runs great now and is a pleasure to drive, but I have to admit that I am a little on edge every time I take it out for a long drive.

just took my 2010C4S for first oil change at 1200 miles. Dealership ordered a new HPFP for my car, as it was a current Porsche "campaign" issue.

This is my first such car, and I was entertained by the fact that Porsche is too good to use the word "recall."

anyway, replacing mine at Porsche's expense, and as far as I could tell, nothing was wrong with it.(yet)

Well...couldn't avoid it. It finally happened on my '09 C4S Cab. Car was taking a little longer to start (not much) and finally shut off while driving. High Pressure Fuel Pump being changed...car has 23,000 miles now.
