Got into the car this morning, even before putting key into inition. I hear these noises coming from the Bose speakers... It sounds like static and then it stopped. I turn on the car and PCM, no audio what's so ever. Radio and CD ..
All of a sudden it's working.. a buddy of mine told me it's static eletricity that caused it to not work this morning.. but not sure how it's working all of a sudden

Anyknow what's wrong?
mos likely it is your amp is dieing. mine died in pretty curious way - it started to do a very low frequency static discharges on all speakers. did it a bit, then for a month it was all fine, then it repeated and never went away.
i got it replaced by warranty.
Amp is dying... It will probably continue to do it intermittently.
I decided at the time to choose the exhaust note over fixing the amp. (2001 Boxster S)

hmm.. will a scan determine this? Now that it's working, if I bring the car in, how will they know that the amp is dying?
I highly suggest waiting until the problem is occurring.
If you can't bring it in at that time, I'd suggest a recording of what you hear... that should clue the tech guys in sufficiently.

wondering if AMPS are covered in CPO extended warranty
wondering if AMPS are covered in CPO extended warranty
most likely not. electronics are covered by original warranty. your mileage may vary - tell your service manager problem started when car had original warranty and then was coming back and going away, may be something will work out.
if not - just buy damn thing yourself, replacement amp is somewhat $150 or so.
Get this issue on record with your dealership and work something out... I don't believe the CPO will cover the amp, so try the dealership first... Good luck!
