The last few days, whew...what a long, strange trip it's been! I learned that i am not cut out for dealing with car salesmen. But, I'm happy to report that I just paid the deposit for this: 2010 C2S, 6spd, SPASM, PSE, ***, full leather + more.

Got a pretty typical deal for leftover car and was able to bring my local dealer in on it too, which I felt like I needed since this is my first one.

It took thirty years of wishing, hoping, and wondering. I remember reading Car and Driver when I was 16 and just being in awe of these cars. I'm still in shock that I finally bought my first one.

Thanks to all that gave advice! I may have never bought it w/o the help I got here. Rennlist rocks!

Congrats Paver...see you couldn't resist the blue one. Well good for you if that's the one you really wanted. How badly or good did you end up in the end? We're all dying to know! No fair posting pics without additional details! LOL

mdrobc1213, yep the blue spoke to me from the beginning. I think it was the straw that broke the camel's back in swaying me from my original plan of buying used...hope I made the right decision.

I got just a tick less than 17% off msrp. I felt good about it...except for the fact that this is many multiples more than I have ever paid for a car before...gulp. If my dad were still alive he would skin my head...I come from a long line of tightwads

winkingchef, thanks, I can't wait to get up close and personal with it.

ivangene, I hope you topped it off before you parked it. I spent all my gas money

It's clear that you bought the car you really wanted - in many ways this is the most important thing. Since a Porsche is such an extravagance, it's important that it be the perfect extravagance (I too am from a cheap immigrant family, but an Italian one so things are a bit confusing) In any case, very happy for you.

Pick out a special route for your first drive. Savor it.

Congrats Paver. Beautiful car. I know Barrier very well and you did great ... in terms of the discount. One more reason (other than being a 997.2 owner) why you should feel proud of yourself.

Ed, I missed the part where you test drove his car.... really did you actually go to Barrier.. A little different feel than that 915 gearbox huh

R U serious, did Ed drive it 300 miles. Trust Ed to break in a car. That son of a gun is one heck of a driver. I wish I could spend more time motoring with him.

So I am assuming the car had 300 miles on the ODO from several folks test driving it ? My car had 150 miles on it and there was already some evidence of bolster wear coz 99% of the people are nowhere near as **** as I am gettin in and out of a car. The adaptive seats (which is what I have) have a sculpted outer bolster making it more proned for wear. I love the snug fit although there is a weight penalty we pay for having it.

It just has 24 mi. He and I were just going on with each other. Do you use a cover? Mine will be in covered parking but not enclosed.
