Default 18" wheels, good options

i want to have another set of wheels. initially wanted to get champion rs98's but later decided not to. now i am thinking, "if i am going to get another set might as well get something different...18's. lighter, cheaper and more options... hmm sounds good to me. however, what are really the good options that our brothers have tried on their 997's. i was looking but it seems that the 98's were never offered in 18's...any comments?

utkinpol, those are nice wheels very similar to the original carrera 2 wheels i like them only question is what offsets will fit our cars... have you had any experience with them in terms of quality, lightness, durability?

you can ask mobonic - he recommended them to me. they are cast wheels, similar to OZs as i understand.

i personally did not have them, you can ask questions to Peter Chaney [peter@forgestar.com] - i currently exchange emails with him about wheels I need but he does not have my sizes in gunmetal finish.

If you just want something that looks great. I really like the BBS and HRE mesh style wheels. They look great on our cars. Not sure if HREs come in 18".

I have a set of 18" OZ wheels for the track because they are light and affordable. I think they also look good for the street.

Get a set of OEM take offs. How much weight savings do you really need for street use?!

Go to wheelenhancement.com and use their wheel finder - put your car in and specify 18s - you'll get a page full of decent choices.

I use the 18 inch OZ allegerita's that I bought from tirerack for my winter wheels (see pic enclosed). They are made in Italy and seem to be durable, without a weight penalty and many like it for track use. Go to tirerack website. They have several finishes available.

I like your CCWs - don't know anything about the quality, but they look great on your car.

thanks, quality is great but they are more expensive than forgestars.
btw i got a response from them - f14 wheels are going to cost 1550 shipped as $150 goes for shipping and to get them in gunmetal is $200 surcharge.

but CCW are forged, they are hubcentric, proved pretty much undestructable design but new they are close to $2600. i got mine for $2k used with tires, so, i think most likely I will hunt for another CCW set for myself as I saw some for $1600 or so which makes them on par with forgestars.

I think the forged Forgestars are around $2600 as well. I don't know what "flow-formed" means, but yes those are cheaper.

Did you ever post pics other than your avatar with them? The price seems decent for forged wheels.

CWW pics? i should have some...

Wheels are ccw c14:
18x9 +50mm (7" backspace), 18x12 +69mm (9.25" backspace), with 265/335 Kumho V700 rubber.

C14 do not take center caps. CCW also makes diff versions that do take caps.
