Loose side marker - please help

Hi guys,

I decided last week I was tired of the clear side markers and wanted to put the orange ones back on. Went to do so last night. Worked fine on the passenger side, but not so on the driver side. The driver side marker is loose and just doesn't fit right. I bent the clip several times but no luck.

Should the clip be bent towards the body of the side marker or away from it?

If this doesn't work, perhaps just purchase a new set?

Thanks in advance!

Once those clips are not tight very difficult to bend and make tight again. I had a loose one on a previous car and just replaced it with new.

You want to add bending forces to reshape the tab or "clip" precisely - like in a surgical procedure. Two pairs of carefully positioned needle nose pliers would be used to accurately and carefully bend the tab to the proper position. Finger bending probably isn't good enough. :(

You can pull the spring steel clip from the plastic channel to work on it for better plier-bending access. Then shove it back in.

Here's what an undistorted 997 side marker tab looks like.

LIBr, thank you. This is helpful. I think I may have been bending it away from the body and this picture looks like it needs to be bent towards the body. Thanks again!

LlBr - what's up with your thumb? Looks like you've got a chunk of skin covering your finger nail.
