Speedster, yea or nea?

I am a big fan of the 911 and 964 Speedsters, but this one seems contrived. While those cars were priced sensibly in keeping with the Speedster mantra (the 964 was priced ~$10k less than a C2 Cabrio), the bean counters decided to bake any collector speculation money into the 997's MSRP, just as they did with the Sport Classic, which I find insulting. Aside from some leather patterns, there are no more bespoke parts on the $250k Sport Classic and $200k Speedster than there are on the $60k Spyder, and they are all built on the same platform.
While I'm sure it will be a great drive just like any other 2nd gen 987/997, and I'm sure they will sell them all, from an enthusiast's perspective it is a transparent money grab.

If the price was $130 k I would love it Only 100 in USA that would be ok but for 200+k I would expect me to be the only one. It's still a plain 911 in costume not enough extra power no new bells to ring. It will be great but not that great.

Nea...too much $$ for a car that would more than likely be used as a collectors piece and held in garage ma hals somewhere. I like to actually drive my Carrera and couldn't see it with that car vs investment in funds. I'd get a Boxster Spyder and a 997S or GTS BOTH for the price they're charging for the Speedster and have twice the fun!

I just looked at more pics of the Speedster at Autoblog from Bruce's "Speedster in Paris" thread. Thing looks like a damn hump back whale. Looks big and bulbous. Not really feelin' it.
I like the BLUE though!
Seems that the royal pricing kicks in on the very limited models. Only 356 Speedsters. How many Sport Classics were made? Not very many. Spyder and GTS have higher production numbers.
