Has it occurred to anybody that this is really yet another Porsche glitch? A security system so secure that even the owner of the car cannot override it? A dealer cannot do an instant 10 minute fix and even a professional thief has to "bag" it?
I did this with an 08 LTD ED Boxster. With towing out of a National Park, 4 days at a dealer, the cost of a key and lost time it cost nearly $2000. Try it on HighWay to the Sun for a real adventure. A modern version of the chain tensioner, the motor mount, ad nauseum.

I know this is an older thread but sometimes it's good to update things. Specifically, regarding the last message about a National Park. Each National Park was a designated key guy on call. Most of them, however, will not be able to handle a Porsche Carrera. A friend of mine accidentally locked his keys into the trunk of his Carrera and they called the designated key master for the Grand Canyon. No go. The backup guy came from Flagstaff and opened it from the right side enough to get a coat hanger in and pull the door handle. (It was a coupe). Fortunately, the car was still under the 1800 Porsche warranty and Porsche picked up the tab. (Porsche makes every effort to keep their cars from appearing broken down at the side of a road).
