money no object - i mean really, how expensive could a super cool keychain cost anyway?

no diamonds etc.. just something cool unique and functional

I dont like any of the porsche ones I have seen

Porsche Design has some cool stuff...http://www.porsche-design.com/international/en/

Or, if $$$ is truly no object, jet to Beverly Hills and shop on Rodeo, I am sure you will find something.

Thanks. I looked at Porsche design but didn't see anything that was right.

Rodeo not right either. I dont want precious stones or something "blingy".
Just a cool, unique, functional, high quality key ring. I think I will just know it when I see it.

No key ring is necessary. Just keep the key alone by itself in your pocket. Nothing to dangle.

If you're so finicky just design one yourself and have it fabricated. How much can it cost? Ti manufacturers, specifically ones that extrude bicycle tubing used to offer great deals on fabricated Ti-bit left overs. One-off Ti (Florence MA), if it still exists, even used to offer a number of Ti wedding rings (from scrap Ti work). (I actually have one based on my affinity for Ti bikes - it was about $60 back in 1998.). And if you're really hands-on, you can lay up your own Carbon Weave - it's not that hard, just do a few searches and you'll see.

I really do like the one Porsche gave me when I picked up my car at Zuffenhausen nearly 4 years ago (first pic). The second is nice and small and light--sterling silver. The final one--well let's see just how smart the 997 Forum crowd is. Anyone recognize that device? (And spell out the acronym).

I don't use anything because I don't like the sound I was getting from it tapping against the dash. I kept freaking out thinking there was a new rattle.

Get a key "purse." The old Porsches were originally sold with one AFAIK. This gray one is (was?) discontinued.

The black leather is like the original offering.

I have no idea where to get them.

Unfortunately, the keys have grown too large for the other leather cases. Way too large. You can still get them either from Porsche or an aftermarket source.

I have the black leather pouch - and loads of others, but so far, I think it is the winner. It keeps the key from getting beat up in my pocket and my pocket from getting beat up by the key - so far. One tip though, those keys are ruthless - put it in the pouch "tooth" up or it will poke a hole through the bottom seam - I have already had mine sewn up once.

The key fits completely inside it, and it is a normal Porsche offering - should be able to get it from any dealer - I searched around on the WEB and got mine for a slightly less jacked up price.
