Another satisfied Carrera Sport customer. I use the original wheels for winter tires. But I had no need to put them on this winter. We rarely have snow in Vancouver proper, but I usually throw on the snow tires just on the basis of cooler temperatures. Amazing difference in wet & cool traction between winter and summer rubber.

Alex - I'm suprised you bothered with winter tires this year. The shock troops were taking all the fun out of Whistler cruises with all the Olympic fun and games...

Well I didnt suspect our winter would be like that. Found a good deal on the set so put them on just in case we got any snow. Even if we didn't it is still a much better choice for cold weather driving as you also eluded. Another plus, saves some tire wear from the expensive PS2 tires!

Just ensure the spring rates are not far off the stock, as spring/shocks are matched on stock suspension to work together perfectly.

In terms of how low, if you look at my pics, I think the 10mm (0.4 inch), is PERFECT. Low enough for sporty, good looks, and not too low to scrape off every bump on the road. I wouldn't go much lower than that.

Also for the spacers, how big? ensure you're not going too wide as the wheels are already widest OEM wheels you can get and you're not widebody!
Here's pictures of the wheels in a side profile...I'll attempt 7mm front and 15mm rear

I don't think you'll be happy with a 15mm spacer in the rear. The ET67 on the 11.5 rim is roughly 12mm pushed out further to the fender line than the standard 11inch backs.

For reference, I've added an OEM 5mm spacer in the back and running 305s. It's flush with the fender lip. Maybe a 7mm in the rear...max ??

Hmmm...I'm running the 295/30R19 rears...and was advised the 15mm should be fine (both vendor and my local Porsche dealer). Oh well let's see what happens next week when I install both.

Thanks for the help and advice though

Maybe their advice is for the narrower wheels. I also agree max 5-7mm in rear. Let us know how it goes.

I love the look of the Sport wheels too. But what I really want are the 911 Sport Classic Fuch style wheels.

I personally never liked the Fuchs style wheels much. I like to see more of the rotors and calipers and not so hot on heavy looking wheels like these.

Agreed. The Fuchs are pretty much the only wheels I would go for.
I'm eagerly waiting for Edgy to let us know that his friend has started manufacturing.

Both know that I'm running the Carrera Sport Wheels and the 295 tire size. Saturday we'll know for sure...!

I'll cast my vote for the Carrera Classics. And by the way, may God bless the guy who invented the 5-spoke wheel (so easy to clean!).
