According to his profile page, he hasn't logged in since Dec 27. I checked recently b/c I was curious why he didn't respond to the thread asking if he was banned.

Granted, he may have taken a month to actually take his time off, but I somewhat doubt that was the last straw.

Paul, is a great guy for those that dont know him. His Cowboys smoked my Eagles. I have had several long running email conversations with him in the past 6 months and he's referred me some people whom I have helped with questions. From where I sit his humor and his knowledge are missed on this board.

I am around. I took a vacation because I was disappointed in the forum lately. I just want to help other Porsche owners, since I have bought 911s every which way and have worked on them since I got my first TT. Usually in those areas I have answers to alot of questions guys/gals have, so I try to give them a head start. I also dont do the RTFM rant. Its hard to get the search app to work perfectly, so I just help them out.
Since John D. left the civility of this placed has gone down. When I do a little joke or satire, some people get offended. When we talk in the off topic forum people get pretty nasty, and then I am the one who gets dinged by the mod. One guy took one of my statements out of context and used it for his sig. To me the OT forum is a place to relax abit, but people dont read all the posts and then trash you for a statement made in post #158 of an eleven page thread. I look at OT kind of like a PM.
I will say stuff there that I wouldnt say in a regular forum, and I respect what others say there. I dont go to other
forums and then quote an OT statement to diss the poster.
So after that I took my vacation.
I have enough experience now to give more than I get back in questions and answers. And you still get dinged. My time here is usually in support of others. I love to help others who are going through some of the same stuff I have. Its daunting to spend $70K on a USED 993 turbo for example and it really helps to have someone who has been there done that, even if its just support. So I get disappointed when people take that for granted.

RL has changed a bit. Some of the old guard and no longer around like Viken. Paul's a straight shooter (now that the doc has taken care of him).
