Will 997 GT3 wheels fit a 997 Carrera S?
I know I probably looked over the answer.....but I really like the 997 GT3 wheel and would like to put a set on my 997S if the fitment will work. Here's what I've found regarding the GT3 wheels. Front wheels part # 997.362.156.96 19x8.5 offset ET53 & Rear wheels part # 997.362.164.92 19x12 offset ET51. I think the stock offset is 19x8 ET 57 & 19x11 ET 51. Any advise would be appreciated. thanks!!!!!!!

Sure they'll fit, both are narrowbody 997s. You have your offsets wrong there, but wheels from GT3 and C2 / C2S are interchangeable. But, they aren't a very good wheel (take it from me, I had both a 2007 C2S and GT3). The GT3 wheels are very heavy. Instead, look for a forged wheel. Lighter and forged = stronger and better performance.

Compare that 30 lb rear weight with say a 20 lb forged wheel. 10 lbs unsprung / rotational mass is like losing 10 hp. There have been posts from the engineering types that can give the conversion info better than me, but that's what I remember as being how important light weight wheels are. I never did figure out why Porsche put their heaviest wheels on the GT3 though - why not some forged like the Turbo and save 6-8 lbs and therefore improve performance? My guess is it was the marketing department (again) sticking with what they thought the GT3 wheels should look like.

I have been running the gt3 wheels on my 06 c2s for two years.
They sit "out" about 1/8" further and look better than the original offset
you can use the original bolts, but ideally you should get the longer ones
my lap times did not increase and the weight increase will only be noticed when you install them
The wheels affect the "handling feel" in a positive way

For street use the GT3 whels will be fine....they are extremely heavy and the offsets are correct for narrow body cars like the GT3 and Carrera. For the track I would look elsewhere for a lighter wheel.
