Default 09 sunroof question

Looks like they have eliminated the one-touch sunroof closure for 09...
That's just dandy, pay more and get less!!!!
At least your kid won't get choked unless you want him to!!

You are correct Larry. Big Brother does not want us crumpling any puppies in there.
I find myself opening it in the morning on the way in to work,....helps me wake up, then again I got to work the other day and realized I wasn't wearing glasses,....not good.

I think that the 996 did not have the 1-click sunroof closure either, if I recall correctly.

when i first opened i was like WTF.. but then i realized u push the button again and it opens 100% and its actually nice... that extra 2" of opening makes a big difference..

one click=windows up=no muffling noise
one click+additional 2"+windows up=muffling noise..

so thats why they did that im sure..

Owner's Manual:

Note
The lifting/sliding roof opens until it reaches the
best position relative to noise. It can be opened
fully, however, if you press the rocker switch
again.

That's an after market box that adds this function as well as some other (that are mostly now included on the cars anyway).

I confess, someone told me about this clever feature. And then, because I am a certified skeptic, I read the manual to confirm it.

Hmmm if they're worried about injuries and such, why not allow us to choose the much safer option of no sunroof at all?

Well, that's what you have - no sunroof, right?
