The toughest thing is taking the Das Schild hood liner off (assuming you had put one on). If you don't have a das schild, ignore step 1.
1) To take off the Das Schild, yank gently but firmly at all the fasteners (they won't break) and it should pop off... eventually. Add some expletives for lubricant.
2) Use a 8mm hex driver through the visible 2 holes on the under side of hood. Twist off the 2 small hex bolts holding the crest in place. You will also get a good amount of gray clay "goop" that is on the bolt. Take those out of the hole as well. They can and should be re-used with these bolts so store them together.
3) The old crest is set in a rubber base that you need to re-use as the base for the new crest.
3a) Some suggest soaking the rubber base in hot water to get it more pliable for fitting with the new crest. I didn't need to do this step since it was already sitting out in the sun on a summer day. I guess if you are doing this install in the dead of winter, this would be another step.
4) Fasten new crest using the included 2 new hex bolts.
That's it.

Since we seem to be sharing photos of silver cars, here's my GT Silver Targa with gold emblems on front and on Champion wheels. Yes, I know the front plate is terrible, but I got the car that way, and decided to leave the FOUR holes covered rather than plug them, at least for now.
Thanks for the pictures guys.
Looks like I definitely need the color wheel caps to go with the gold hood crest. They look good together. But I would put the amber sides on.

If you have a tendency to swap these hood ornaments you should consider pulling Das Schild and drilling a couple of holes in it strategically to access the small nuts. Saves you pulling the whole thing off.
