Default PTS question

I posted this in the GT3/2 forum, but figured as the question was universal, you guys might be able to help too!

I'm about to talk with my OPC about orderng a GT3 MK2 but want to get a paint to sample. The colour I want is the Italian Police blue:

Yes, it does look that good in the flesh. It's lighter than Riviera, and I think it'd look absolutely incredible on the car.

BUT, getting a sample will be a bit of a problem. How does the whole process work? What do Porsche need to replicate the colour? Is there a way of finding out all necessary details other than just a photo (which is never accurate)?

Thanks in advance...

(Or, if you really really want more )

Check this paint code sheet: http://www.veloceregister.net/pntcode.htm - although the date is old, so maybe hunt around for current paint codes. Or talk to Porsche in Italy?

Are you dead sure that Alpha and Lambo are identical color? Looks different - either way, as you say, a photo is not ideal at all for a paint match.

Porsche uses Standox paint which is I think Dupont of Europe. High end paint shops that paint Porsches should have Standox color box and should be able to generate paint color for you. Chances are the paint's in some paint company's data base and Standox can duplicate it.

Check here for some more info:

http://www.standox.com/portal/en?pag...00111104121100

above link should be all one line.

And here for PDF:

Sincerely,

Macster.

Post this on Rennteam and several Italians will pitch in and help. Darias (sp?) is from Northern Italy. (There are more Europeans on the Rennteam than on Rennlist).
