997.2 Carrera S post-deliver Day #1
Just took a delivery of 09 Carrera S Basalt black on black.
6 speed manual
Full leather with supple inserts
Sport Chrono
Sport PASM
Navigation
Universal Audio Interface (no Bose, no bluetooth)
Porsche Crest
19 inch Classic Wheels
(debating between Tubi and Fabspeed exhaust. Any input is appreciated btw)
Took delivery of the car at 10 am and took it to the back country roads and mountain roads. Put about 200 miles on it and went through the full tank of gas. What a ride! Today was a perfect day for a drive in the Midwest. Mountain roads were perfectly shaded by the street lining maple and oak trees. It was comfortable to drive with windows down and sunroof open. Only problem was that there were too many people out today. But, I was still able to put on some very happy miles on the car. I didn't realize how beautiful the nearby mountain roads were. I had a pan-sensory enhancement by driving this car. Roads appeared perfectly tortous. Spring air never smelled so sweet. Breeze on my arm and face was just perfect. And the music! Wow. The engine note was just great. Deep brrrr at 3000 RPM when pushed on the pedal leasurely. Angry grrrr with a rushed stepping at the pedal. wow... thats all I can say. wow... This car is very different from the '99 996 (traded in for 02) and the '02 996 (traded in in 2004). Albeit the 996s were both cabs, there is something very raw about the 997.2 Carrera S. I can't wait to go out again.
