You said you have a SRX system, which has a laser shifter. If the cop used a laser gun, your system should have shifted it and given you time to slow down before disabling the laser shifter. I think it must have been an instant-on radar gun, which of course you can't beat. With my older Escort 8500, the laser warning is a much more obnoxious sound than the radar warning.

I wish they'd go after the really bad and incompetent drivers out there who are more of a menace to others than someone speeding a little on an open road.
