Drive it! I bought my 997S from a dealer in Cincinnati; flew out the night before; picked up the car at 9 am and drove 700 miles to NYC in about 12 hours. Great way to bond with the car.

One of the great things about this forum is that people with a wide variety of expertise in sport driving, ranging from professional to pitiful newbie, as well as people with a wide variety of technical knowledge of these cars, ranging from "poet" to "astrophysicist', all hang out here and are willing to answer just about any question someone may ask, even if that question has been answered before. There are almost no stupid questions here.

Except for this one.

Drive it!

(Spoken in very friendly jest )

And this question has been asked before, several times.

It looks too much like troll content to me.

Hi, newbie here and I need your advice on something....

My wife and I just bought a new house. So, should we live there, or hire another family to stay there for a month for us? I just don't know! What do you guys think? If you think we should hire a family, does anyone have references for a good family with 2-3 kids in the NY area that could live in the house for us so we don't have to?

This question has been raised time and time again. Seems like trolling
to me. However, I will give you an answer, if I must.

Your issue with the house depends on whether this is your only house.
If it is a second or third house and you will not be using it 100% of the
time, I would suggest hiring a family to live in it for a month or two
to take care of maintenance and get a few projects done while you
are at the office billing your time.
I would not suggest hiring a couple who has kids--they have a tendency
to unintentionally damage the property.

I sincerely hope this is the last question raised on this forum.

Making fun of someone asking a legitimate question is not very hospitable, guys, and discourages others from asking advice on genuine matters for fear of being humiliated and made fun of, as demonstrated here.

If you can make the time and your family situation permits, then I'd recommend you drive it home. I've always bought my cars locally, so never had that decision to make so far.

Enjoy your new ride, nonetheless!

Come on, how come noone is offering to help a fellow Rennlist memeber drive his car home for him? I would!! For the chance to drive a new 997 for 600 miles, I would buy my own plane ticket to pick up the car, pay for the gas and my own expenses to the 600 miles and even wash the car prior to dropping it off. Then again, I'm just a 993 owner interested in trying something new.

PM me if anyone here need their car driven somewhere.

Okay, everyone. That's it! Close the forum, shut down the server farm, melt the drive arrays to slag!

The last question ever has now been asked and answered!

Give us some pics of that 993 while you're at it. We love those cars over here.
