Default Multi Function Steering Wheel

Anyone know if the wiring loom for a multi function steering wheel is in place in cars not equipped with the wheel ? A friend of mine is interested in installing one and curious to know if anything other than the wheel is needed ?

Thanks,
Andy

The wiring harness for these cars is built for each car specifically for the options ordered from the factory, so the MF wiring is not present in your friend's car.

Any idea if the harness can be retro fitted - if so what would the likely price be ?

I thought that the harness was there and only needed the wheel, module in wheel, plug it in and programming by dealer??

I too am considering the multifunction wheel. I have C4 w standard wheel and want to know if the multifunction wheel will be plug and play? Also, can the airbag be removed form one wheel and used in another, asuming they are same shape?

Thanks

Not true. They all have it. I have done the exact same thing to two different 997's already---a 2007 997TT and a 2009 997 C4S cab. Neither car came from the factory with a multi-function steering wheel, and now they do and working perfectly.

So if i order a multi-function steering wheel, I can just plug-n-play? (figurably speaking)

Im interested in the multi function wheel as well. If it truly is plug and play, that would be sweet! Group buy?

It's nice to see the clear writeup from the 6Speed guys. I use my MF wheel a lot, and appreciate the setup. When I changeover to a regular car I really miss it.
