annual check up

They will do an oil/filter change, ECU flash upgrades and a brake flush every 2 years. A good service guy will check suspensions, look for issues and signs of oil leaks. In addition you get dealer good will, that may be important should you have a warranty issue right after the warranty expires.

It's not as bad as all that. According to the service manual, they would routinely replace your air filter, your cabin air filter, oil filter and oil, check battery fluid, and check 1/2 dozen other minor things. There is no annual service requirement for your car,--it is every SECOND year so you need not feel compelled to take it in prematurely. With only 9000 miles logged on it it would be doubtful that it would even need the filters.
I do all these things myself because they're all so entirely simple, and then I simply document it so that it is noted that things were done. I take the car in for minor warranty issues which is the time that the dealership has an opportunity to update any service bulletin work on the car.

Just looked at my bill for 2 year service(2006 997S with 10K miles)
total was $489 included annual low mile service (oil change) brake fluid flush
pennsylvania state inspection and emissions testing
Not bad for Porsche since I have not needed to spend any more money
on the car so far. Tires are still OK

I just had my first oil change done at 9K from a private shop. $250 for oil change and cabin filter change and this was only this high because they had to purchase the cabin filter directly from the Porsche dealer for $100 . We will find a cheaper place to buy those $5 dollar filters than the dealer. Yes the cabin filter was very dirty and needed replacing. I sent my oil out to Blackstone labs for analysis. Will post results later. I will take the car to dealer for warranty and update issues only. I learned this through Cayenne ownership and the first couple visits.
