Default PSE - factory order vs. dealer install

As the factory is not yet accepting orders for the 997.2 Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE), was wondering if there are any differences (other than costs) between having it installed at the factory versus dealer install? Are the on dash switches the same? Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Have dealer install with your on/off switch for complete control, unless they have eliminated the DME cutoff.!!

none, the dealer installed mine as part of the deal on the car. I wasn't cheap but it looks and performs the same as if it came from the factory. If you have sport chrono it makes the install a bit easier.

From what I heard the dealer install will set you back 10-20 hours of labor. Cheaper to install Tubi's.

Factory install is always less expensive.

Default Thanks for the replies.......

Given my build date of January, it appears that my only option is to do a dealer install as the new PSE is not expected to be avail until Feb 09. I am just hoping that the new PSE makes it easy for a dealer install and the inside fittings (buttons, controls, etc.) are similar to a factory install.

Thanks to all for the info and input.

Why not get aftermarket Tubi or FisterD hack done so you can have your car sound good all the time?

I don't know what it is for the 997.2 but for my 06 Cab S the difference was not only cost but warranty. As I recall, Porsche will warranty dealer installed PSE for only 2 years vs 4 fitted from the factory.
