Default Getting rid of MOST system

I've got a 2008 997 C4 with the PCM/MOST/NAV system. I'm considering the Dension unit - but then I was wondering - is it possible just to pull the whole unit out and replace it with a touchscreen NAV system with Bluetooth, iPod, etc. built in? Has anyone done this? If so, what unit did you use? With installation, the Dension/Bluetooth option is close to $1000 - and you still don't have touchscreen - if I can spend $1000 and get state of the art, isn't that a better deal? Thanks for any suggestions!

Not so easy as it seems. MOST controls the car, not just the audio. The PCM has to stay there, well a least somewhere in the car, I had seen someone leaving it in the glove compartment. Are you ready for something like that?
Wiring to speakers should most likely be changed as well as all the speaker sets which are run by a strange Bose amp setup... the cost should well exceed what you have in mind I fear...

If you are in the group buy we ran for the Dension w/BT, you'll save a real load of cash.

I'm just getting ready to do this! Will be using the Kenwood unit with Nav, bluetooth, Ipod and sat radio. You have to use a different amp. The touch screen is great and 7" wide. I've seen several done and the only thing you loose is the audio and trip info in the center of the dash (below speedo). As I've said several have done this and ALL just love it!!!! Way better sound and larger touch screen, with all the other great stuff!
