Default 997S Wheel Specs/Markings

Hope this hasn't been beat to death and covered somewhere, but I could not find anything during the "search" method.

Are all 997S wheels the same in both the offset and lug pattern/dimension and how are those measurements checked?

I was looking at a set of classic wheels and noticed they have some numbering on them, like 8 and then 50. I think the 8 is the wheel width, but from where to where? And is the 50 the offset?

My car came new with Turbo wheels and I can find no such numbers on them...are they hiding inside the wheel somewhere?

Any help most appreciated.................Jack

I'll take a shot at this, but suggest you get others to confirm. Most C2S wheels are 8" front with 57mm offset and 11" rear with 67mm offset. Widebody cars (C4, C4S, TT etc) have different offsets on rears due to wider rear fenders.

Sticking with C2S, if you get the Carrera Sport wheels, they have 8.5" front and 11.5" rear rim widths, with offset of 55mm on fronts and 67mm on rears. With 1/2" wider rims, the wheels stick out further by half of that width (1/4"), plus 2mm on the fronts due to less offset. (Don't you love how wheels and tires mix and match metric and non-metric measurements?) Both 8" and 8.5" front rims get 235/35/19 tires. For rear rims, 11" widths typically get shod with 295/30/19 whereas 11.5" rims typically receive 305/30/19 rims.

The same Carrera Sports are used on both narrow body (C2, C2s) cars and on wide body cars, like my T4S. For the wide body application, Porsche installs a 17mm spacer on the rears hubs to push the wheels out for the wider rear fenders.

I don't know what the dimensions of the Turbo wheels are, and it is possible they come in 2 different configurations (for wide body and narrow body cars). I don't know why they don't stamp the rim widths and offsets on those wheels like they do on the others.

Hope this helps. Of course, the guys at Wheel Enhancement are always helpful and could answer your questions about specific wheels and what sizes will work on your car.

The turbo wheels lack the markings because they are forgings. Castings can easily take specialty markings like offsets and widths, while forgings have to have those markings stamped into them,--most likely on the back where there is no cosmetic impact.

Some wheel weights,--generally asked for periodically, and other stuff...

Great info Dan and Ken........................

"I'll take a shot at this, but suggest you get others to confirm. Most C2S wheels are 8" front with 57mm offset and 11" rear with 67mm offset".............where did you find this info????

Now, if I could just find out the following for a 2008 C2S Coupe.

I looked up wheels for my model and year on a couple of wheel websites and found this info, but really want to get a confirmation from some car owners.

Thanks again.....................................

Wheel Offset Front:50?

Wheel Offset Rear:58?

Lug Pattern Size: 5 130?

My tubro wheels are marked on the outside on the hub. front is 57 and rear is 67 offset. My track wheels are CCW's 9x18 and 12x18 and they stick out more and look better and are 50 front and 63 or so rear if my memory is correct.
