just crossed 59k miles on my 07 Turbo Tip and outside of the road noise (which is surprisingly louder than my 987.2 BS with the top up) there is a periodic creak that comes from both rear window / c-pillar areas. Annoying at times but I just drive faster or turn up the music a bit. Also, I sometimes get a whistle at speeds ~70mph that seems to come from the passenger side view mirror assembly. Weird.
All 996s develop over time internal rattles and panel creaking noises. Most cars rattle when they drive over rough railroad tracks, but others, including 996s, as they age tend do rattle over anything other than smooth surfaces.
Now... the 997 has a stiffer chassis and most came with PASM. My question, for 997 owners who have accumulated at least 20,000 miles, how quiet are your cars?

Another Rattle Fixed
Found Another easy rattle to fix.
Plastic on plastic rattle due to vibration-- in looking at the frunk, found that the noise emanated from the windshield fluid filler connection. It appears the tubing is connected to the inside of the fender with a plastic on plastic joint. Squirting some WD-40 into the joint silenced the leak. Easy to check--just gently rock the fluid fill cap and see if you hear the rattle.
