Default Oil Pressure - Potential Problem...

I have an 2006 997 C2S and could do with some help please if possible.

My manual states the oil pressure should be at 3.5 bar at 5,000 rpm when the engine is warm. Today however whilst in the car the Oil Pressure pretty much stayed at 5 bar!!

Is this a problem looming or already happening?

When the car is first started and warming up, the oil P will be at 5.
Once the car is warmed up, the oil P is typically 1.5-2 at idle. If it is very hot out or if you've been at the track, it is not uncommon to see oil P around 1-1.5 at idle.
At a constant engine speed the P will likely be 3-4.
At full throttle it should always be 5.

Sounds like you're seeing normal pressures.

Thanks for that, very helpful.

The Pressure seems to be at 5 bar even when running at what ever rpm whether it's 2,000 or 5,000. I'll be a little more attentive tomorrow and watch what it does as the car warms and idles etc.

Low oil pressure on cold start would be a sign of problem. If it starts and stays at 5 I'd suspect the gauge.
